Black bears are the godless Ninjas of the Bear world. They use their dark coloring to hide in the shadows, and then, when you're not looking, kill you dead with their mad Ninja skillz. They often hide in trees, and are therefore associated with tree huggers. Black bears are proficient wielders of many naturally occuring weapons; especially sea stars and woodchucks. Despite being black, they are not elgiable to be Stephen's Black friend.

Despite being the Ninjas of the Bear world, Black Bears are sometimes cannibalized by Grizzly Bears, in Yellowstone Park. They are also prone to hilarious bouts of clumsiness, as seen in this knee-slapping-ly funny clip from the sad, extinct show known as the Late Show with Craig Killborn.
