Bruno

Bruno, also known as JJ1, was a brown bear. He was the first bear who dared to enter Germany in 170 years. To preserve the status as a bear-free country, local authorities decided to shoot him.

German politicians described him as a "Problembär" (Problem bear). A more idiomatic translation is "godless killing machine". This is certainly no exageration, as he killed, among many other animals, no less than 33 sheep - often without eating them.

The absolutely justified execution of this bloodthirsty beast on 26 June 2006 was objected by some animal-rights pinkos.
