Freedom Fighter

"Freedom Fighter"

Freedom Fighter has two definitions:

1. A person, not a terrorist, that fights for freedom in a place where there is none.

or

2. A person (or bear), that fights freedom in a place where freedom is so desperately needed.


Two examples that can explicitly delineate the difference between these two definitions are the histories of the United States of America and Iraq:

During Operation Iraqi Freedom, group of native-born residents took up arms against an occupying force from a powerful overseas country. These Freedom Fighters are terrorists, because they are fighting the freedom that Iraq so desperately needs.

In obvious contrast, during World War 0, a group of native-born residents took up arms against an occupying force from a powerful overseas country. These freedom fighters are America's first heroes, patriots, and are now known as the Founding Fathers of the United States of America.
