John Ronald Reuel Tolkien CBE (b.1892-d.1973) was a fantastic man. He was born in South Africa, though thankfully at the time it was an English province. He wrote the highly influential compendiums of human nature The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, which was later made into a trilogy of Nerd Porn.
