Jim West was the former Republican mayor of Spokane, Washington.
In an eerie rehearsal for the Mark Foley affair, West was forced to resign in 2005 when the local paper uncovered emails that he had sent from city computers to several young men.
As a result, the newspaper was purchased by Rupert Murdoch, the entire staff was fired and the offices have been dismantled.
