It's also a drug that makes kids high and zone out from reality. This side effect is commonly referred to as "better able to focus". Parents (mainly the liberal ones) who are too lazy to actually discipline their children, give this drug to them to make them behave, which it doesn't but it does make teachers and school administrators happy, because instead of actually teaching them anything, they can all just sit there quietly, collecting state money just for being there.
