[edit] NOTES
Okay, what I'm trying to do with this one is to condense Nazi propaganda into "children's stories", if that's even possible.
I am currently looking for speeches given by Hilter (you know the ones) where he starts off slow and then brings himself to a boil by the end, which is how I want Magda to "tell her tales".
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, we need to mention any anti-semite of the day, such as Henry Ford (who--I can't believe this--doesn't yet have a page) as a sponsor.
[edit] Recurring Motifs
"Storytime with Magda" often drew on well-known children's stories as well as on Magda's own childhood tales. Woven throughout the stories were a number of recurring elements, including
- Magda's love for the Fatherland
- The superiority of Siamese cats over other breeds, because Siamese cats are light-furred and blue-eyed.
- Distrust of Jews
- Fondness for yarn
- Concern that yarn was growing scarce as a result of the overly harsh reparations provisions of Article 231 of the Treaty of Versailles
- Hatred of the French for taking all of the cat's yarn in reparations, when they clearly had enough yarn already
- Support for any cats who would put an end to such injustice, and ensure that Siamese cats would never again suffer the indignity of yarn shortages
- Belief that the Jews were secretly in control of all the yarn
- Love of Hitler
- and cats who look like hitler!
I started "Hansel und Gretel" I want to use an accent, but it looks a bit confusing, maybe some other ears and eyes reviewink dis, yah!?
Also, using babel fish, I found that there is a word in German for a collection (accumulation) of yarn: "Garnansammlung". Gotta love it!
