Musical Roots

Teen Pop started 1996 with the start of the Backstreet Boys which happen to be gay. Two years later in 1998 *NSYNC was formed. October of 1998 started the official teen pop revolution with the formation of Britney Spears. Her hit single "...Baby One More Time" set off the movement. The music video for the song created much controversy because it portrayed Catholic School girls as being sluts. In may of 1999 the Backstreet Boys released an album titled "Millennium" which told young people that a Y2K bug would kill their parents and teens would take over the world with the help of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. In August of 1999 Britney's arch rival Christina Aguilera released her debut album where her vocals made Britney look like the least talented person on earth which she is. Later that year Jessica Simpson released her debut album that endorsed George Bush for president.

Stylistic Movements

Teen Pop was originally a business plan created by Jive Records. It went beyond that and became a global sensation. Teen pop in the eyes of Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson is all about being sexy and not having sex until you are married. Spears failed to do that however because she cheated on Justin Timberlake. Simpson waited until she married Nick Lachey. boy bands like *NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees were about men being attracted to women even though most of them were gay. It was a satire of heterosexual people. Boy bands spreaded a dangerous homosexual agenda. Justin Timberlake is a girly man but is straight.
