The Baath Party (full title: Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti's surprise birthday party for His old friend Shmuel Baath) was a three day unwashed techno rave that took place in Baghdad, Iraq from December 7, 2001 to the early hours of December 10. Initially planned as a birthday party for Mr. Hussein's old friend, distant cousin, and private banker, Shmuel Baath, it quickly turned into a major block party in the fashionable Saddam Village district of pre-war Baghdad.
